Privacy Policy

Short version: Utsaav collects only the data needed to connect you with event professionals. We do not sell your personal data. You can request deletion at any time.
📥 1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, and some data automatically when you use our platform:
- Account data: Name, email address, phone number, and city when you sign up.
- Provider data: Business name, service category, and profile details for service providers.
- Usage data: Pages visited, features used, browser type, and device information.
- Payment data: For paid services (Jyotish PDF etc.), we collect UPI transaction reference IDs. We do not store full payment credentials or card numbers.
- Communications: Messages or enquiries sent through our platform.
⚙️ 2. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used to:
- Create and manage your account on Utsaav.
- Connect customers with event organizers and service providers.
- Send service-related emails (OTP, password reset, booking updates).
- Improve our platform based on how it is used.
- Detect and prevent fraud or abuse.
- Comply with applicable Indian laws and regulations.
We will not use your data to send unsolicited marketing without your consent.
🤝 3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share data with:
- Firebase / Google: We use Firebase (Google) for authentication, database, and file storage. Google's privacy policy applies to their infrastructure.
- Cloudflare Workers: Our OTP and API backend runs on Cloudflare. Data in transit is encrypted.
- Google Analytics: Anonymized usage data to understand how the platform is used.
- Law enforcement: If required by law or court order in India.
🍪 4. Cookies & Tracking
Utsaav uses the following types of cookies and tracking:
- Session cookies: To keep you logged in during your visit.
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics): To understand page visits and user behavior, anonymously.
- Functional cookies: To remember your preferences (e.g., popup dismissal).
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Some features may not work properly without them.
🔒 5. Data Security
We take security seriously:
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encrypted).
- Passwords are hashed by Firebase — we never see your plain password.
- Email OTP verification is used before account creation.
- Firebase Security Rules restrict access to your data to you only.
No system is 100% secure. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately.
✋ 6. Your Rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act), 2023, you have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data we hold.
- Correction: Update or correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure: Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Grievance redressal: Raise a complaint about how your data is handled.

👶 7. Children's Privacy
Utsaav is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us for immediate removal.
🔄 8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of Utsaav after changes means you accept the updated policy.
